Matt and I took a trip to Monterey last weekend with his family. I had trouble sleeping so I got up way early and just wandered around the city as the sun was barely up. It was empty, quaint, and calm - especially compared to what it was like later that afternoon. There was a fishy smell all over the wharf (but not in a gross way) as shops and restaurants were getting their daily shipment. Monterey is absolutely beautiful, I feel so lucky that we got to visit.
