Kentucky and Nashville

A couple of weeks ago we went on a family trip to Kentucky and Nashville. It was great to have a change of scenery and visit both cities for the first time. Kentucky had a lot to offer with derby's and the bourbon trail. Nashville was so unique, filled with talented musicians as well artistic creative shops/small businesses on every corner.
Went to a Derby in Kentucky. The big sun hat was a must, especially once we were out on the tracks !
Hat: Thrifted, but I have seen very similar at Forever21 this season
With my sweet enjoying the tailgate
Dress: Urban Outfitters Hat: Forever21

Why the long faces ? This horse gave licked Matts face right before I snapped the picture

After Kentucky we were off to Nashville, TN. To say we ate well on this trip is an understatement..

A delicious dinner our first night in the city at The Judges Vinegarroon

At lunch we indulged in Yazoo Pale Ale, a local beer. I can see why it is popular  !

The Gaylord Opryland resort was mind blowing. It felt like walking through its own little city.

A windy walk over the Shelby Street Bridge. Beautiful views of the City

Had to stop by The Loveless Cafe. Had a 'Blue Moon' cocktail made with moonshine. I think it should be called the  'waistless cafe' because after my meal I thought I was going to have to be wheeled out of there. So delicious and so filling.

Picked up some of these chocolate bars during our 10 hour drive back. I can do all things through Chocolate which fuels me :)

It was so thrilling to visit both of these locations and to relax and unwind with my second family.  Matt and I  will be driving through Nashville again soon on our way to California at the end of this month and I can not wait to check out even more of the local music venues and restaurants on that trip as well.
