Getting There

This Thursday May 22nd we took off from Northern Virginia to make our way over to sunny Los Angeles. This is a move we have been anticipating for months none the less it all still feels so surreal (but so exciting !) They say the most important part of the journey is not the destination but rather getting there ( and by they I mean Mary-Kate and Ashley)

 Here are a few pictures from our trip so far ;
Thursday morning in Virginia before we took off.

Beautiful mountains on the drive into Nashville. (I personally think it looks like Jurassic Park…a little too much like Jurassic Park)

Around hour 9 on the road a 'view from above' of my road trip attire seemed like a good idea
Driving south into that humidity
Rest stops on rest stops on rest stops

A quick shot from the beautiful Nashville, TN.
We were fortunate enough to take a trip to Nashville about a month ago so this time around all we really did was arrive-sleep and depart. The city of Nashville has such an amazing energy. Since I can remember I have always been in touch with my 'artistic' side whether it was with paint brushes, photographs, fashion, writing sketches or performing stand up but I have never been able to tap into the musical side of that (even as a consumer or audience member-trust me I am no singer), while we were in Nashville last month that changed we went to a few live performances and there is just an amazing energy in the buzzing musical scene. These talented muscians writing, singing, performing and believing made me feel creatively re-energized. Two young artists in Nashville I love right now are Russell Wagoner and Kaylie Shorr ( Since this blog is usually about fashion I will note that both are amazing dressers on top of their phenomenal music ! I keep an ear on their tunes and an eye on their duds!  #multitalents)

The only traffic we hit the whole trip was crossing over the M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I !

En route from Nashville, TN -> Dallas, TX. What we had anticipated to be a 10 hour drive was more like a 13 hour drive yesterday. Plenty of time for music, podcasts, comedy albums ( I have listened to Jen Kirkmans at least twice in the past week) and conversation. Luckily I have a fantastic driving buddy for the road. We are about hallway there, just 3 more cities and about 25 more hours in the car.
